Keys to the Game: Celtics vs Thunder (November 3, 2017)
Slow Down Russell Westbrook:
Russell Westbrook is just about averaging a triple-double with 20 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds per game. If the Celtics want to stand a chance tonight, they will need to make sure they keep the reining MVP in check. Bench players like Marcus Smart and Terry Rozier will most likely have a few combined shares of covering him, that is going to mean a great deal. If they can shut him down, the Celtics will be alright. Westbrook feeds on bench defenders. Hopefully not tonight.
Kyrie Irving Keep Doing You:
Kyrie Irving is starting to be what we all thought he was going to be. If the last game vs Sacramento stayed close, there was no doubt in my mind Irving was going to drop 30 points on them. This game may be a bit closer and Kyrie Irving will need to be the best PG in the game tonight when going head-to-head with Westbrook. CHECK OUT: The Kyrie Irving Engine Has Started
Minimizing Carmelo Anthony and Paul George:
Melo and PG13 are combining for near 45 points a game this year. Much of that has to do with Anthony's great offense thus far. If the Celtics want to come out on top, they are going to have to make sure to maintain awareness when it comes to the second and third best player on the team. The Thunder are a three-headed dragon, the Celtics cannot just chop off Westbrook's head and hope to win.
