Keys to the Game: Celtics vs Cavaliers (Opening Night - October 17th 2017)
There are three major keys to the game tonight if the Boston Celtics are going to be able to pull off a victory in Cleveland against the Cavs.
Keys to the Game
LeBron James' Health:
If James is not healthy, the Celtics have a far higher chance of winning. I believe he will play, but will he be at 100%? That is the question. If LeBron is lacking in skill, quickness, leaping ability, etc. tonight, the Celtics will most likely be able to control the game. Regardless of any other factors, LeBron James being less 100% can trump all.
The Cavs have multiple veterans coming off of the bench. They have names like Dwyane Wade, Derrick Rose, Tristian Thompson, and others. The Celtics will try to match that with guys like Marcus Smart and Terry Rozier. So, if the young Boston bench can outplay the "has beens" on that Cleveland bench, they will be in good shape. However, that may be easier said than done.
Jayson Tatum is making his NBA debut. He is also in the starting lineup, and in a city like Boston that can carry a lot of weight. If Jayson Tatum cannot provide starter-worthy production for the Celtics, this game is going to be tough. A lot is going to ride on him tonight. Will he be able to handle it? Let's, as Celtic fans, hope he can.
