So.. if you have not seen it, this was a little dispute that turned slightly physical between Marcus Morris and Jaylen Brown during the blowout loss last night:
So what do I make of it?
Well, first off I don't want people to blow this out of proportion. This could have been a lot worse. A LOT worse. Can you imagine if rather than a slight shove, Marcus Morris were to throw a haymaker at Jaylen? Now that'd be bad. BAD.
But you know what... this wasn't all the great anyway. If you go through the replies to my tweet you will see that most people agree that this was not a good look. On the other side, you'll notice there are enough Celtics fans that are actually defending the incident. That is where we have to be careful...
So, I agree, it is not the worst thing in the world. Things like this happen all the time in sports. These athletes are competitive by nature. I get it.
However, don't tell me this is alright, or this is fine, or that this is nothing. This is something. This is not a good look whatsoever. There is no real way to spin this as a positive.
So I really don't like this, at all. That is what I make of this.. I think this is a bad look. Not the worst..but bad enough.
Now let me dispel the "this is Jaylen Brown's fault" idea. It may be, but we don't know if maybe it was Morris that started it, or stepped out of line. We just can't say for sure. So, let's just remember that. It takes two to tango and we don't know who led this one...but either way this was not a good sign for a Celtics team that seemed to be turning some sort of a corner.
