Fine. I give in. I will publicize my thoughts on the recent actions of Terry Rozier. To the bunch of you that have asked for this blog, don't say I've never done anything for you, 'cause here it is...
It is no secret, I am a big Terry fan. A very big one. In fact, at this point I am probably the biggest (or only) Terry Rozier fan out there. The guy has had a ROUGH offseason, and oh yeah, it has only been like two weeks so far.
I don't agree with how he has gone about this at all. Let me get that out there. In no way should a player EVER, ever, go on live TV shows and bash either a teammate, coach, organization, or all of the above. Not that Terry has directly done that, but we are not stupid here. He has pretty much done all of the above. He is acting like a spoiled kid that did not get his way.
That said, I think me being biased towards Rozier has actually let me listen to what he has been saying lately, Rather than jumping down his throat and cussing him out. All in all, Terry isn't technically wrong about what he has been saying. He really did get the short end here. He went from being a starter to having literally ZERO chance of taking that spot back this past season. He did have to sacrifice. The most? Maybe, maybe not... but I won't die on that hill. However, he did need to sacrifice. A lot.
But again... my problem arises with the immaturity of how this has been coming out. Us Celtics fans already KNEW these things about the team and their chemistry and how Terry had to take a step back. We understood that from early on in the season, when we realized we weren't getting what we expected. So Terry is beating a horse that has been dead for a while, and he's just making himself look like an asshat while doing it. Yeah, that is right, me - a HUGE Terry guy - is calling him a big ole asshat.
At the end of the day, I became a fan of Rozier because I saw something in his game. That has not changed. I still think he has the potential to be a really good player. You want to tell me I am a fan of a dink? Fine. I don't have a comeback right now... I don't agree with how he's acted since the season has ended. All I agree with is the fact that, yes, he was/is in a terrible situation for his future and growth. It is no secret. So I am not at all surprised this is the way he FEELS. I was most definitely frustrating for him. I just wish he had been smarter when it came to getting it out there...
Let me make one thing clear. I still very much believe in Terry Rozier's game, no matter which team his suits up for going forward.
PS: To all of the people that are flabbergasted and/or appalled by this stuff coming out... Are you new here? Welcome to the damn NBA...
