I have had somewhat of a plug on the offseason improvement of Marcus Smart. I've received very positive information, that leads me to believe Smart will have a great year in green for the Boston Celtics.
This projection weighs heavily on the fact that Smart was over weight last season, especially in the latter half of the year. He was tired. He was sluggish. He was not the electrifying Marcus Smart we were used to seeing.
It appears that is all in the past. Smart, in this picture taken on, or around, September 9th (2017) looks to have lost the fat and transformed his body. He appears to be even leaner than he was with his college physique.
Smart has been putting in hours of work this offseason, both on and off the court.
Smart has been able to "perfect his diet and workout routine" as well as give much time to his ever so needed offensive game. His on-court workouts are "almost completely offense focused."
These are all good signs for the 23-year-old former 6th overall pick. Marcus Smart is due for a breakout year as he enters his 4th season as an NBA player.
At the very least, we can expect Smart to be the tone-setter, or the attitude guy, this season. I expect him to be one of, if not the true leader of this team.
