Wow Rory, now that is what we have been waiting for. McIlroy has been a tad off lately. He has not seemed like the star we once seemed to be. McIlroy has struggled putting this year, but that changed at the Deutsche Bank Championship. McIlroy seemed to have all aspects of his game on point as he took home round two of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
McIlroy won by two strokes. He finished at 15 under par, with a -6 final round. He jumped off to a fire-like start, and held onto it.
Paul Casey had been playing great golf through rounds one and three, but he could not make a large enough push to secure the victory. Casey finished the final round with a score of +2. Sorry Paul...that type of final day will lose you a tournament just about 100% of the time.
Another notable final day push was made by Australian, Adam Scott. Scott finished with a scored of -6 and found himself alone in fourth place with a total score of 11 under.
McIlroy rose 34 spots to the fourth position in the FedEx Cup rankings. Will he be able to keep this fire burning? Or will his flame fizzle out? We shall see in the next two rounds of the playoffs.
