We are less than 3 weeks out everyone! Rumors are flying, Pro Days are wrapping up, and teams are finishing their draft boards. The prospects have all been judged, and now it’s a matter of where guys fit in terms of value and position, and how trades will affect the draft strategies of every team. Here’s my updated 2-round mock with some other notes. Enjoy!
Possible Trade Scenarios:
Carolina trades up to number 2 to draft Leonard Fournette
Fournette would be a huge upgrade over Jonathan Stewart anad would create a scary running tandem with Cam Newton.
Cleveland trades up to number 5 to draft Mitchell Trubisky
Cleveland can’t justify taking a QB with the first pick, but have the ammunition to trade back up to get Trubisky. The Titans will be looking to trade down and acquire a 2nd round pick and Cleveland will need to jump in front of the Jets to get the QB of their choice.
Baltimore trades up to take Leonard Fournette
Hearing that Baltimore loves Fournette, and they have a serious need at running back. It will take a lot to get high enough in the draft to get Fournette, likely needing to trade up to at least 4 in order to make sure they get him.
Philadelphia trades up to take Marshon Lattimore
Small rumor I heard, but it makes sense as Philly is in the market for a cornerback and would love to get Lattimore, the top-rated corner in this class with the physical tools to be an all-pro.
Houston trades up to take Watson, Trubisky, or Mahomes (earlier)
Tony Romo retiring, the Texans are now in panic mode when it comes to finding a quarterback. They’ll be looking for someone to start immediately, with Watson being the most-ready, but Mahomes possibly having the best chance to develop into something special.
