Not a great week for me. Not the best record with picks, and man my fantasy team is struggling (for reference, I have Le’Veon Bell and James Conner as my starting RB’s, and Vance McDonald didn’t do much). Hopefully this week goes better, now that we have seen what all these backup quarterbacks can do.
Last Week’s Record: 10 - 6
Season Record: 32 – 15 – 1
Philadelphia Eagles @ Green Bay Packers
The Eagles inconsistency on offense should concern fans, and facing the Packers in Lambeau is not an easy task.
Tennessee Titans @ Atlanta Falcons
This is more me picking against the Titans rather than me picking the Falcons.
Winner: Atlanta Falcons
Washington Redskins @ New York Giants
Screw it, I’m hoping on the Danny Dimes bandwagon! No Saquon will hurt, but Jones ads a mobile element that should allow Wayne Gallman to be more effective.
Los Angeles Chargers @ Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins have not shown me any reason to even consider picking them.
Oakland Raiders @ Indianapolis Colts
Ty Hilton’s status could change this, but Jacoby Brissett and the Colts have and will continue to show the NFL that this is a strong unit who can compete for a playoff spot.
Carolina Panthers @ Houston Texans
Much like Daniel Jones, I am all in on Kyle Allen. I loved this kid coming out of high school and was glad to see him get a shot in the NFL after a rollercoaster college career. That being said, the Texans have just too much firepower for the Panthers to keep up with.
Kansas City Chiefs @ Detroit Lions
You think I’m picking against Mahomes in any game that isn’t against the Patriots?
Cleveland Browns @ Baltimore Ravens
Despite their struggles, the Browns are still a very talented team who just needs a big win to really get going. I’ll take the unpopular pick here and say Baker goes into Baltimore and shows why he was picked before Lamar Jackson.
New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills
I don’t think that Bills fan who’s firework blew up in his face will be ok after this week. The Bills are the best defense the Pats have faced yet, but with the way the Patriots’ defense is playing, even a slow day from the offense won’t make a difference.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Los Angeles Rams
Jameis looked great last week, but it was against the Giants. This week he gets a real defense.
Seattle Seahawks @ Arizona Cardinals
Russell Wilson vs. a rookie and a meh defense.
Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears
The Bears defense at home is hard to pick against, despite how solid the Vikings, lead by Dalvin Cook, who looks like a top 5 back now that he’s healthy. Bears in a squeaker.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Denver Broncos
Gardner is becoming an American icon with his personality and off field antics, but let’s not forget he is balling out on the football field, and making a serious case for Nick Foles to remain on the bench when he returns. The Jags look strong and face a Denver team that can’t score points and have 0 sacks from it’s “elite” pass rush combo.
Dallas Cowboys @ New Orleans Saints
Dak and Amari are playing for extensions, and based on how they have looked, it’s hard to pick against them until they get paid. It makes it easier knowing they won’t face Drew Brees. Going into the dome won’t be easy, but expect the Cowboys to pull out a close one.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Mason Rudolph gained some confidence in the 2nd half last week, and that should carry over against a much less talented Cincinnati defense. The Steelers get back on track this week.
