Morning Cup of Green: Celtics' Biggest Strengths and Weaknesses? Which Former Celtic Could Come Back and Help This Team? Favorite Celtics Game of 2018?
Ahh here it is... the last Morning Cup of Green of 2018. What a year.
First question goes out to Michaela, she asks what are the Celtics strengths and weaknesses.
I will answer the weaknesses first here. Aside from some players slacking this year and whatnot I believe there is one overly annoying thing the Celtics have done poorly this year. What is it?
Digging themselves into a hole. It seems it happens almost every game. Whether it is early in the game, or at some random point, the C's seem to refuse to play a full 48 minutes.
Again, there are some players I feel have been a weakness, but for the sake of brevity, I believe getting down in games more often than they should and by more points than they should has been the overarching weakness thus far.
So what are their strengths? This one took me a bit longer to come up with. Now it may not be their biggest strength, but one of the most necessary Celtics strengths right now is the ability to flip a switch and turn 'beast mode' on. As i mentioned before, the team gets down too often. However, most teams would quit and throw in the towel at that point. Not the Celtics, not Boston. They have more than a handful of wins that they've done this in. So, like I mentioned before, they dig themselves a hole... but thank the gods above for them being able to flip a switch and make a game out of some of these in which they go down by a million points.
Next up is a thought I love. Isayas brings a really fun idea to the table.
So for this one i decided to think beyond the obvious answers of the legends like Bird, Pierce, Russell, etc. Any of those guys would obviously be the easy answer. My answer is Kevin Garnett.
The Celtics would be unbelievable with a defensive-minded, gritty, intimidating big right now. Even taking away KG's amazing offensive talent, at least jut give me his defensive presence and mindset. Ahh, I would love that.
Last question, coming in via email.

What game was my favorite game of 2018? I will keep it to this season (few games in 2018 of last year's playoffs).
My favorite game was probably beating Philly on Christmas.
Just the way they won and WHO they beat and what day it was on.
