Mookie Betts has joined his fellow outfielder, Jackie Bradley Jr. (May winner), as the second Red Sox player to win the American League Player of the Month this 2016 season.
Betts hit .368 with five home runs, 15 RBIs, five stolen bases and a 1.068 OPS in 23 July games. The 23-year-old right fielder entered Wednesday hitting .306 with 22 homers, 70 RBIs, 17 stolen bases and an .890 OPS overall.
This marks the first time Betts has ever won a Player of the Month award. Safe to say us Sox fans have a tremendous player to watch grow even further. Beleive me, this will not be the last reward he wins during his MLB career. Evan Singleton @EvanSingleton33 |
