LeBron James took part in a press conference today. He was asked about the Kyrie Irving situation. LeBron constantly belittled Irving by calling him a "kid." He also tries to take credit for everything that Kyrie has become.
Kyrie Irving is 25 years old. It sounds like LeBron is talking about and referring to some new rookie that he played with for a single season.
This is probably the exact reason Kyrie was fed up with LeBron. It is probably the reason he wanted to leave. Who would want to stay in a situation if they were constantly looked down upon?
Kyrie clearly did not have LeBron's respect. He was clearly looked down upon by the guy. Which is ridiculous.
LeBron has the right to look down upon any opposing player, I guess. He is the best player in the league so how could he not? However, doing it to a teammate? Belittling a guy that you go to war with? That is preposterous.
Kyrie Irving has obtained no credit for really anything the Cavaliers have accomplished since LeBron going back. He realistically should've won Finals MVP a few years back... if you just take into account statistics.
Do NBA fans forget how big Kyrie's jumper was to put the Cavs up late in the game? Oh, but it's all about LeBron's block... give me a break.
This is not an either or situation. They both deserved credit for the ring. And that is what Kyrie Irving is seeking. He wants to achieve his own goals, carry his own team, and step out of the shadow LeBron clearly casted his way.
