Alright... so yesterday Kirk Minihane somewhat ripped me on his show. If you missed it, make sure you check out the Kirk Minihane Show that came out on September 5th. You can find it on whatever podcast platform you use. If you only want to listen to the berating of me, skip to about 84 minutes in. That said, you should just listen to the entire episode.
I will be honest, this did not go like i had thought it would... I released this episode thinking Kirk might listen to it and possibly like the idea of someone truly appreciating what he's done in the radio/podcast world. That said, seeing as Kirk Minihane declared me as "one of the great assholes in history," I think I was a bit off...
Kirk seemed to have liked me and the episode I released for a whopping 15 secs.. then they dive into the insults and criticism. Which I couldn't care less about. They weren't making stuff up. Kirk, Blind Mike, and Steve were just reacting to sounds clips from my episode. Am I scatter-brained? Apparently. Am I going to up-n-change how I do my live shows and podcasts just because Kirk critiqued the hell out of me? No way (well, maybe).
I love the show I create because it is is just me, candidly, doing my thing. That is the way I will continue to do it. Which in some weird way was what I was trying to get across in my podcast episode praising Kirk. I've appreciated the support from anyone who has enjoyed my content over the years. Is it Kirk's cup of tea? Guess not. Was it easy to make fun of? Too easy. However, that is just me... so whatever.
I will say, somehow my best moment came during the whole Blind Mike monologue...
To be clear, blind people can be successful, just like Mike (congrats on the job). At the same time I still stand by what I said, or rather what I was trying to say, about him playing his role on the show. Blind Mike plays the loser role on that show. That is a fact. He gets shit on, complains about funny things, seems to be the butt of most jokes, so on and so on. Is that harsh? I don't think so at all. Why? Because it's a legit role, and a funny one that Mike embraces and crushes. Kirk plays the "this is what I have to deal with" role and Mike, also Steve at times, plays the "well, sadly I am the thing Kirk has to deal with" part.
Overall, I do truly appreciate Kirk, Blind Mike, and Steve for talking about me. I contributed to that episode of the show and though it was for tough reasons, I am still proud of it. Thanks guys.
