For the record, I loved the pick from the start. Don't believe me? Just holler...I have the published article link rearing and ready to go. I wrote an article the next day, after Danny Ainge was horribly booed on draft night. To reiterate, I've always believed the booing was not due to picking Brown, but rather because no trade was made. However, that's a story for another date.
ANYONE in their right mind would take Brown over Ugly-Ingram now and if you wouldn't...then stop reading this and hmmm leave. You know nothing about basketball or LIFE if you think Ingram is better than Brown after watching the two play throughout the season. It is so clear who is ready to be an NBA player and who is not.
Brown has been playing really well lately. Back when he was starting he was putting in extremely valuable time. Then when he got injured, obviously he was not contributing. However, right when he came back the impact was still there. He is still riding that wave.
The thing the C's have needed so desperately was a guy that can just get to the rim, maybe get fouled, but just finish buckets at the rim. With Brown's development, the Celtics' problem could disappear so quickly.
Jaylen Brown is turning heads. There is no doubt about that. I think that all Celtics fans can sit very comfortable with the idea of him being here to stay.
So let us just watch as this kid turns into pure gold.
