Day will continue to play TaylorMade clubs and ball, but he is now going to wear Nike apparel. As of now, he is planning on wearing a Nike hat and shoes.
Before signing with TaylorMade, Day played Nike clubs. So this is not completely new or surprising.
What shocks me is that Day would break away from his Adidas-TaylorMade clothing sponsorship. For those of you that do not know, Adidas owns TaylorMade. That is what I feel makes the situation a bit odd.
Does this mean we might see guys like Dustin Johnson or Sergio Garcia, who are currently Adidas athletes, make the switch? In the world of sports, Nike is just a more dominant athlete endorser.
So, I do wonder if any other Adidas golfers will consider jumping on the wagon.
Hey is is the world No. 1 did it, why can't I?
