Isaiah Thomas has yet again, in a way, called out the Celtics. There have been a few of these since the trade. Instances highlighted by Thomas giving his opinion that the Boston Celtics did not get any better by making the trade. Well, now there is more...
So, can we 100% say that this was Thomas calling out the C's? No. Can we assume? For sure.
Now, I have seen all over social media, Celtics fans have been getting upset with him. Even diehard Thomas fans have said things along the lines of, get over it, or, just keep your big mouth shut.
All that said, I am kind of on the contrary. I believe Isaiah Thomas has the right to still be upset. He got blindsided. If he wants to claim the Celtics were not loyal to him, he can. He is right.
Whether or not the Celtics got better with the trade, they still sent Thomas away with no regard.
This is a guy that has made a career off of proving people wrong and playing with a chip on his shoulder. Why would you expect it to stop now? Because he loved Boston so much? Exactly, he loved Boston so much that he now hates them. It makes sense.
He thought he was here to stay. In fact, I would say +90% of people thought he was here to stay.
So as Celtics fans, as Thomas fans... try to see where he is coming from. Sure he keeps opening his big mouth, but his big mouth is in the right. He was turned on by the Celtics.
Say what you want about the NBA being a business. But put that business aside, ask yourself as a human, were the Celtics loyal in this situation? The answer is, unfortunately, no.
