David Price's time table to return is now public. He is going to make a few minor league starts and then head back to the big leagues. This sounds great yeah, but the question i have is whether or not he is actually ready to pitch for the Red Sox. Is he being rushed due to injuries, or team struggles, or is he ready to rock and roll?
It is just crazy to think that Price, the guy we questioned whether he'd even return this season, could be pitching for the Sox within a month. That is crazy. Now, for some reason I don't think he is 100% healthy. Think about it, he went to Dr. James Andrews. You go see him when something is clearly wrong. He was also briefly advised for surgery.
Like I said before, I still do not think that Price is 100% healthy. He just can't be. It does not line up for me. BUT, what do I know? I don't think he is being "rushed" back, but I sure as hell think he is coming back to early.
I mean this guy has already struggled as a Red Sox pitcher. Do we really need him pitching at say 80% (if he is even at that level)? I would say no... We will however get to see how he pitches in a couple lower-level games.
If Price is able to complete kill it down there, then i will at least be somewhat confident with his return. However, if he can't do that then I will sure as hell have a tough time being confident in his return.
Time will tell. Let us hope the time and the Price is right!
