Bring Boogie to Boston. Who cares about his temper? The guy is unbelievably talented. He is a freak. Any Boston fan that thinks DeMarcus Cousins wearing green is a bad idea is simply wrong. Boogie dropped 55 points last night. Isaiah Thomas dropped 44. How about pairing these guys up in green. They were teammates once before. Why not work it out again...
There is this preconcieved notion that DeMarcus Cousins is a locker room cancer. He is not a bad guy. For every player, coach, or league official that has something bad to say about him there is two others that say just the opposite.
Picture this: You are this high caliber player. You can score from anywhere on the court AND you can play some D. Well, that is Cousins, yet his team refuses to consistenly look to him. Hell, I would get frustrated too.
The guy has had six different coaches in his seven seasons in the NBA. Again, frustrating. Cousins needs some sort of consistency and guidance. The Celtics are one of the most, for a lack of a better term, high-chemistry teams in the NBA. That is the type of place he needs to go. Somewhere with a great coach, GM, and most importantly team.
The C's are the high-energy team he needs to strive. Isaiah Thomas was some form of a punk prior to landing in Boston. Now, no one thinks of him like that. In fact, he is the new face of the franchise...
In Boston Cousins would be able to turn that anger and aggression into on-the-court performances. He would be on a team filled with guys that have his back.
Thus far, he has been alone. He has been frustrated. In fact, his actions lately probably indicate that he is just done with Sacramento.
It is simply not his fault.
Now I know there are plenty out there that think he is a terrible person, a punk, a cancer. Well, let me ask you this: If you believe he is that bad of a person, what better organization to go to if you are that kind of person? None. This is the best spot for a guy like that.
Another HUGE misconception that Boston fans have is that Isaiah Thomas and DeMarcus Cousins do not get along. Well myth busted. They both say that the other is one of their, if not the, favorite players to play with. Isaiah has come out public stating how friendly he is with Boogie and they have both made it clear that Isaiah leaving the Kings had nothing to do with their relationship. "DeMarcus is one of my good friends to this day." Thomas continued, "He doesn't have a bad attitude like people think he does."
If the face of your franchise likes the guy, how can a fan think otherwise?
Boogie may get fines, technicals, and ejections, but that does not mean he is a bad guy. The league has no tolerance when it comes to his actions. So, like Rasheed Wallace (also a tempered guy who came here and acted just fine) the refs in this league will blow their whissle and T him up with less hesitation in relation to most.
He is in a bad spot right now. Being in Boston coud turn this guy's career around.
