Thankfully, Spring Training is almost over and the beginning of the Major League Baseball season is just a week away. But before we get too far into all of the predictions and Opening Day roster speculation, I wanted to talk about what has been by far the best result of the 2017 Red Sox Spring Training: The Brock Holt-Andrew Benintendi bromance.
While this friendship surely didn’t develop overnight, it was clear from their first day down at Fort Myers that this isn’t your average friendship. This is a full-fledged bromance. The factor that truly separates Brock and Benny from other bromances that we’ve seen before is the quality of hair that’s involved. The flow shared between these two #FlowBros is so epic that I think we might just have to start calling it a “flowmance” (Don’t judge, we were all thinking it).
Once the Red Sox social media team detected the popularity of this bromance among the fans, it was game over. Nearly everyday, the Red Sox accounts flooded the internet with pictures of two inseparables that just never got old. We all know for a fact that the social media team we the ones who made this particular picture happen, but the caption by Brock makes me happy that they did. Quick Observation: Brock should really start hitting arms with Benny in the offseason. Andrew makes him look like a string bean.
This brings us to the most recent post. Just like all great relationships, Brock and Benny use date night in order to get away from the daily grind and spend time with someone who matters. Well, not actually. I’m sure they just went out to get some food after the game and Brock realized that he was being presented with the perfect opportunity to make people like me go crazy the second they opened Instagram. BUT, this example of off-field bonding is a crucial factor in the debate of whether Brock and Benny truly have the best bromance in Boston.
The Brock/Benny bromance is great, but it’s no match for the connection between Tom Brady and Julian Edelman. If you don’t believe me, just watch this video.
Between Edelman talking about Brady’s sneaky requests to have ice cream, his instant response of “Nah, he says babe”, and his message to Tom’s dog Fluffy exclaiming that “HE’S MY BEST FRIEND!”, you can’t help but smile from ear to ear while watching this video. The level of trust between the Greatest Quarterback of All-Time and his best friend/favorite receiver just can’t be matched. Nonetheless, Brock and Benny are off to a nice start.
