As of late, there has been plenty of buzz about the possibility of the Celtics trading for superstar forward Anthony Davis. I'm here to tell you if he worth it or not.
So, would it be worth it? In my opinion no. I firmly believe the Celtics should be going after DeMarcus Cousin, instead of trading in a three team trade including him without landing him. In this situation they would be giving up both Smart and the Brooklyn pick. Kelly O, sure that doesn't bother me. However, Marcus Smart is showing absolute signs of progress. He has been a blast to watch thus far. I do not want to give him up. Within the three teams, the Celtics are clearly moving the least talent. So, if they were to simply target Cousins alone it may lower that high asking price.
Anthony Davis is great, yes. However, he is just not worth giving up everything for. Now, would I be alright with doing the trade? Yes. That is the simple answer. All I am saying is that I do not think Smart AND a Brooklyn pick is worth worth moving in a package.
If this was Olynyk, Bradley, and the pick I would be all for it. As good as Bradley is, I feel like he is not going to get any better than he is now and his market value is at an all-time high. Also, I am starting to see Terry Rozier step up and show signs of similarity to Bradley.
So no, this trade is not worth it. It would not kill the Celtics, but they would be giving up too much...
Again, I say continue the Boogie to Boston idea. I still believe he would absolutely strive here in green.
