Tuesday, October 17th 2017, the Boston Celtics are set to travel to Cleveland to take on LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. With all of the offseason movement, signings, trades, and draft picks do the Celtics take home a win on opening night?
But what does all that Vegas gibberish that have to do with the opening night Celtics-Cavs matchup? Exactly, nothing.
I expect the Celtics to win in Cleveland tomorrow. Why? Well for starters, Cleveland is without Isaiah Thomas, the most talented piece they got in return when dealing away Kyrie Irving...to the Celtics. So in essence, the Celtics upgraded and the Cavs simply shipped out their second best player.
Now, I am aware I have said the Celtics will not start hot. That is still something I believe. However, an opening night like this is a different kind of game. It is Kyrie's chance to hand it to LeBron, and true...visa versa as well. But Irving has a superior supporting cast, at least while Thomas is out.
The Cavs no they have issues. That is why they are not going to start Tristian Thompson. They know that the minute their starters take a seat, many teams' benches can mop the floor with the no-names and has-beens they are going to roll out.
So just like me saying the Celtics will start slow, I believe the Cavs will start a tad slow as well (both starting slow will still be far better than other East teams). I predict the Celtics walk into Cleveland tomorrow and take care of business.
