Well the greatest day of the year landed on a Tuesday creating a 5 day bender filled with Bud Lights, Hot Dogs, and American freedom. My body is in shambles and my bank account is a joke, but I don't regret a damn thing. 241 years ago Thomas Jefferson and the boys told the British to F off in the form of the Declaration of Independence and a beautiful nation was born. This day makes me so proud to be an American. It also reminds me how lucky I am to live in the greatest country in the world. And it's all because of the brave men and women that have fought for this country and continue to defend it.
So where is the best place to celebrate this great day? That answer is easy, Cape Cod. If you haven't done it yet, you better. Here are some of my favorite spots on Cape, especially during this glorious holiday.
Improper Bostonian in Dennis, MA- You have to go here when Jim Plunkett is playing! Usually goes from 3pm-7pm on the weekends, and let me tell you, this man is a legend. If you like day drinking, (if you don't, I don't trust you) live music, and having Bud Lights thrown at you by an old man on stage, you won't be disappointed.
Cape Cod's Irish Pub in Harwich, MA- Slackers! Slackers! Slackers! The Cape Cod Slackers play here on Friday nights and it is incredible. Non-stop dancing and Jello shots with great music makes for an unforgettable time.
The Beachcomber, WellFleet, MA- This is the greatest place on earth, hands down. There is nothing better than hitting this beach with a bunch of beers and good friends. Their beach bar has been nationally ranked and praised as one of the best beach bars in the country! Make sure you try their famous drink (over 3 million sold) The Goombay Smash.
I already can't wait for next year! Check out my video below, Cape Cod July 4th Weekend 2017.
