Boston- Bruins General Manager, Don Sweeney, announced today, September 14, that the organization has signed David Pastrnak to a six-year contract worth $6.67 million annually. In total, Pastrnak will be receiving about $40 million.
After his spectacular 2016-17 season, Pastrnak was awarded the Golden Stick or Zlata Hokejka Award, which is given annually to the best player coming from the Czech Republic. He is the youngest to win the award at just 21 years old. Former winners of the award include Dominik Hasek(5), Jaromir Jagr(12), Patrik Elias(2), Jakub Voracek, and current teammate David Krejci.
The 6-foot, 181 pound winger was second on the team in goals scored and points tallied, third on the team in assists, and tied for tenth in the NHL in goals scored.
