This is the third installment of my prediction series. If you have not yet, please check out PART 1 and/or PART 2.
There are two players on this team that are surely due for a breakout season. Now, I am not considering either of these names a hot take or anything like that. In fact, their names have been thrown around plenty.
The first is, obviously, Marcus Smart. It is no secret that Smart has been working on his game this offseason. He has also been working on his body. With the lost weight and the (seems to be) improved offensive game, Smart is going to really step up for the Celtics this season.
He averaged over 10 points per game last season, and I expect that to go up this year.
The next name is someone that I have been behind since the get-go, since he was drafted 16th overall in the 2015 NBA Draft. Terry Rozier.
Boy, this guy can ball. He really can. The only true knock on him last season was the fact that he just did not finish. He'd get to the hoop so athletically, and then throw up a crazy shot.
Well, from what we have seen in preseason, Rozier is looking amazing. He is staying in control and getting to the rim. I love this guy, and feel he is due for a great season of averaging double-digits in the points per game column.
I might even go as far as saying that Rozier will have a bigger impact that Smart. However, I don't fully think he will (so I save myself by saying "might").
Regardless, both Smart and Rozier will be seeing a larger role this year. They are two of the longest tenured players on the team, most likely making them extremely comfortable and confident when on the court.
Be on the lookout for both Smart and Rozier to absolutely breakout this season.
