This is the second part of my Celtics prediction series. If you haven't yet, please check out PART 1. In this installment I will be providing my playoff predictions for the team. Just how far will this Boston Celtics team go?
I caught a decent amount of heat for saying the Celtics would win less games than last year. And I get that. But what I alluded to was the fact that, yes, I think they will win less games than last season, but I fully believe they will make a deeper post-season dive.
Last season, the Celtics lost to the Cavs in 5 games. 4-1. Which was EXACTLY what I had predicted in last year's edition of my predictions. Kudos to me...
My prediction is that 4-1 series will be stretched out to 7 games this year. Now, unfortunately, I am still chalking the 7-game win up to the Cavs. Why? Well, I still feel that the Celtics aren't fully developed. Hayward and Irving still have to gel and the young guys have to grow. Those, two of the most exciting things about this team, still are yet to go full-blown on us fans.
Taking the Cavs to 7 games is quite the feat though. Do not get me wrong. In fact, about 49% of me believes the Celtics can take the series. However, this is a LOGICAL prediction piece and I have to go with my initial 51%.
I really believe the years to come after this season are going to be when the Celtics and Warriors clash and bash heads in a fight of league dominance.
