So much talk about the Celtics lately. Talk regarding trades. Big trades. Trades that involve moving their best player, team captain and MVP. Isaiah Thomas. So do the Celtics actually want to make a move like this? Is it soon to come? Let me shed a bit of like on this.
Nope. They are not going to trade Isaiah. No chance, believe me. At bare minimum, it wouldn't make any sense for the 1 and 2 seed to ever trade with each other. Even if it made them both better.
I hate to be a ball buster, or negative nelly, but the Celtics are sitting pretty right now. I don't see them making any crucial, game-changing trades in the near future. Especially not before the season kicks off.
They have no real need to trade anyone away as of right now. They have a tremendous lineup. Why not play it out for a bit and see how these guys run with each other?
So, I really do hate bursting all of the Celtics fans' (that want Irving) bubbles, but it has to be done. Isaiah Thomas will start the season on the Boston Celtics. He will play alongside Gordon Hayward and Al Horford. The team will tear it up this season.
It will be fun to watch.
PS: Funny how all of this media talk has come at a dead time in the offseason... hmm
