BetOnline has released odds for where Tom Brady will be playing in 2020 and the Patriots are the heavy favorites. New England comes in at -250 to retain Brady’s services, with the Raiders in a distant second.
Here are the top 12 destinations for Tom Brady according to the oddsmakers:
There are a few big surprises on that list. The Titans and Dolphins appeared to be early favorites to land Brady, but both come in as relative longshots compared to the rest of the field. The Dolphins don’t even have the best odds to land Brady in their own state.
The Buccaneers and Panthers both come in at somewhat surprising numbers, but perhaps it’s no coincidence that both teams reside in the NFC South. If Drew Brees retires this offseason, the division could be seen as relatively weak compared to the rest of the league. For Brady, who’s enjoyed the comforts of an easy AFC East for so long, would surely value a more forgiving path to the postseason.
It may surprise some that the Patriots are still such heavy favorites amid all the speculation of Brady playing elsewhere in 2020, but it’s clear New England remains the best landing spot for the 42-year old quarterback. The division is still generally weak, the coaching advantage is still massive, the familiarity with Josh McDaniels’ offense is there and his good friend Julian Edelman remains on the roster, pleading for his quarterback to come back.
It appears the gambling community has concluded that the talk of Brady leaving Foxboro has been a bit overplayed and the most likely scenario remains the greatest quarterback of all-time ending up back in a Patriots uniform for Week 1 next September.
