The Celtics beat the 76ers 108-97 Thursday night in no small part thanks to Kyrie Irving. Kyrie had his second best scoring output of the season dropping 36 and put on a perfect display of the below-the-rim dominance that has made him one of the best point guards in the NBA over the past half decade. On drive after drive, Kyrie pulled out one majestic move after another finding a different fancy way to finish every time he got to the rim.

Tampa Bay traveled to Boston Wednesday to take on the Bruins in the second night of back-to-back games. The Lightning took down the Buffalo Sabres 2-0 Tuesday night with goals from young-stud defenseman Mikhail Sergachev and veteran Dan Girardi. Boston came into Wednesday reeling from a disappointing 4-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers Sunday afternoon. The Bruins knew they would need a better effort in front of goaltender Tuukka Rask if they were to take points out of their tilt against the league-leading Lightning. Forwards Brad Marchand, David Backes and Ryan Spooner all returned to the lineup after missing significant time with injuries

He’s got the hardest nose on the court and the ugliest shot. Marcus Smart is the ambivalent underdog that continues to puzzle both the Boston Celtics organization and their fans. Just when it appears that he has it all figured out, Smart takes a step back - sometimes literally in the form of an ill-advised step-back jumper.

After getting off to an underwhelming 2-2 start to the 2017 season, the New England Patriots are now winners of seven straight games and appear to be right back on track for another AFC Championship appearance. Tom Brady is playing as good as he ever has and is showing no signs of slowing down. The defense was the main concern early on in the year, but now their bend but don’t break philosophy is hitting on all cylinders. With five regular season games remaining on the schedule, the Pittsburgh Steelers look like the only real competition left as the other four games are against the weak AFC East opponents (Bills twice, Dolphins, Jets).

Here we go again... Tiger Woods is making a grand return. Boy, I wish I could legitimately get excited. However, I feel like we have been down this road far too many times in the past couple of years. By Andrew Nason
With fantasy regular seasons wrapping up and teams fighting for playoff spots, this time of year is the craziest, as we will see good teams fighting to stay afloat, and bad teams looking to play spoiler. This week features playoff teams battling and a potential franchise quarterback debuting for his new team, so it’s sure to be a crazy week 13 in the NFL. Last Week’s Record: 13-3 Season Record: 115-61

The Japanese baseball phenom is planning his move to the MLB for the 2018 season. This decision means he will forfeit the chance for a major signing bonus due to restrictions limiting the amount of money international players can sign for before the age of 25. The Red Sox can offer him a maximum bonus of $462,000, the 11th highest in the league. Clearly, Ohtani's motives aren't fueled by money. If he waited two more years to hop across the pond, he could be in for an historic payday. To make it even more explicit that his own development as a player is paramount, his agent released a questionnaire that any team interested in signing him must fill out. While Dombrowski (hopefully) has his attention fixed on securing Stanton, I've been picking up the slack around the office. I took the liberty of filling out the questionnaire on behalf of the Boston Red Sox:

The Boston Bruins (10-8-4) will take on the Tampa Bay Lightning (17-5-2) at TD Garden Wednesday, November 29, at 7:30 PM. The struggling Boston Bruins have been red-hot playing under goaltender Anton Khudobin who now has a 7-0-2 record and has yet to record a regulation loss. And while goaltender Tuukka Rask has a record of 3-8-2, all the blame should not be put on him. The team has struggled while Rask is in goal and does not seem to give him any help defending the front of the net. Constant turnovers have lead to a numerous amount of scoring chances for the opponent, hanging Rask out to dry.

In what seems to be a quiet start to the 2018 MLB free agency, there are many players switching teams via free agency or trade. For the powerless Boston Red Sox, there are many sluggers available to Dave Dombrowski and company, but only for the right price. For this offseason, there's only one man that the team should pursue.

At 5'11 Anton Khudobin is one of three goaltenders in the NHL below 6'0. But despite the height disadvantage, Khudobin has been providing the Bruins with a major advantage in goal through the early portion of the 2017-18 season. |
