Tomorrow morning at 8:30am Eastern Time, Team USA begins it's chase for World Cup gold with their first group stage game against the Czech Republic, one of 12 European teams in the tournament. The Czech are no Greece, Serbia, or Australia and Team USA should handle them with ease, but it's worth getting to know them regardless.
Mookie Betts came up huge with perhaps the most crucial home-run of the 2019 Boston Red Sox season thus far in Los Angeles.
The undisputed 2019 Red Sox ace earned his career-high 16th win against the Colorado Rockies, keeping playoff hopes alive in a season that’s given everyone plenty reason to call it quits.
The reaction to Andrew Luck’s retirement was somewhat mixed, but one thing everyone could agree on was just how stunning the announcement was. Andrew Luck came into the league heralded as the next John Elway or Peyton Manning and leaves it as, no matter how you slice it, a massive disappointment.
The 2018 Boston Red Sox were perfect in almost every way and so far the memory of that perfect season from a year ago has set astronomical standards that this 2019 Boston Red Sox team have not even come close to reaching. The starting pitching has not yet found its stride and it is August 27th and time is running out. This teams performance is painfully similar to the 2018-2019 Boston Celtics who would get on a roll, get your hopes up, and then lose 8 in a row and completely crush your dreams. With that being said, this team has been remarkably average but they have had some unbelievable seasons from a few players and of course some really bad seasons from a majority of the roster.
Sorry I am a bit late to the party, as this article is coming out just after the season kicked off Saturday night with Miami and Florida (Tate Martell should be starting by the way, but that’s a discussion for another day). Here’s a quick look at how I see the 2019 College Football season shaking out, plus my Heisman Trophy pick and some true freshmen to keep an eye on.
With only 2 points separating the 6th place Revs and 10th place Fire in the Eastern Conference standings, Saturday’s game was CRUCIAL for Bruce Arena’s side. Thankfully the team had Andrew Farrell returning from his yellow-card accumulated suspension, and DeJuan Jones returning to fitness and health, Arena had more of his favourites to throw in the starting XI. Matt Turner looked to have a fine 90 minutes in between the sticks, coming off of his long-term contract extension a few days prior, and his fantastic 9-save performance against the New York Red Bulls on the team’s recent road trip.
