For the past week, the Boston sports radio airwaves have been flooded with talks of a trade for Indiana Pacers star Paul George, and the potential to bring in free agent Gordon Hayward. Both players have been rumored to be potential Celtics for the past year and a half it seems. George because Danny Ainge has been seeking another scoring three since Paul Pierce was traded.

As we close the door on the month of June, we are now heading into everyone's favorite time of the year, MLB trade rumor season. After a solid first half that has the Red Sox locked in a battle for first place in the AL East with the Yankees, everyone surrounding the team seems to be asking the same question: Will the Red Sox make any upgrades to their roster as the trade deadline approaches?

To say the offseason for the New England Patriots is anything less than an A+ is a blatant lie. In all my years of following football, I don't think I've ever seen something so astounding. Of course there were some departures that made you question the method to Belichick's madness, but the newcomers quickly changed that. For the last 15 years, the Patriots have been the most dominant team in the NFL whether you like them or not. Each of the 5 Super Bowl winning rosters seems to out-do the last, and this year is no different.

Deciphering the reports that come out during the NBA offseason can be a tricky task. Team sources are prone to holding bits of information back just as much as the insiders themselves. Teams go often unnamed in trade rumors to halt the public speculation accompanied with having your team be linked to trade talks. Adrian Wojnarowski reported in his story on Tuesday that the Celtics and Pacers were close to a deal on draft night for All-Star forward Paul George until “a third-team scenario late in the evening fell through that stalled talks”. The Portland Trail Blazers would be an ideal candidate to be that 3rd team seeing as they had 3 picks in the first round of the draft until they made a move to trade up to #10 with picks #15 and #20, that being the move that could have stalled the talks if Indiana was looking to get one of those picks in the deal.

Despite many mixed feelings around the city on Danny Ainge’s decision to move down in the draft and punt on the number 1 pick, he undoubtedly made the right selection for the Celtics. Let’s start from just the pure basketball point of view. It seems as if every first round draft pick in the Danny Ainge regime has followed the same trend. Whether it be Tony Allen at number 25, Avery Bradley at 19, Marcus Smart at 6, or even Jaylen Brown at 3 last year, Ainge appears to be intrigued by guard/wing players with scouting reports that say “great defender, can drive to the hoop, shot needs work but will eventually come.” Not to say there’s anything wrong with defense first type players, but especially with the way this current Celtics team is constructed, wouldn’t an offensive gifted player be nice?

The date we have all been waiting for has officially been announced. On August 26th, Floyd Mayweather and Connor McGregor will battle inside of a boxing ring. The rumors of this fight have been circling for over a year as McGregor is sure he can beat the boxing legend. Of course many fans that are actually going to watch this fight are simply interested in the entertainment value. Really, that is the only reason to be excited, because from a boxing standpoint this fight sucks.

Less than three hundred miles and a five hour drive separates Las Vegas, Nevada and Glendale, Arizona. The Vegas Golden Knights will begin play in the 2017-2018 season in the pacific division as the NHL’s newest franchise, and they will be looking to make a strong first impression, and potentially create a long-term rivalry in the process.

Most of the season the MLB airwaves were dominated by Yankees phenom Aaron Judge, within good reason. But then Bellinger went out and hit 15 homeruns in a 30 game span with a total of 24 on the season.
