The Eastern Conference standings have been all over the place this year. It seems like Boston at the top has been the only consistency in the entire conference, and even that is being threatened by Canada. Marcus Smart: You hate him for the same reasons you love him. Go ahead, try to find a more lovable jerk! Smart is a tonesetter and a rough-around-the-edges embodiment of Green Teamer ideology. Believe it or not, he is also the most tenured Celtics player on the roster. But as illustrated by a recent “run in” with a hotel room picture frame, Marcus Smart is an excitable wild card. The Bruins (29-10-8) played host to the Anaheim Ducks (24-17-9) Tuesday night, the first game for both teams coming off the NHL’s All-Star Weekend. Winger Brad Marchand was set to serve the second game of a five-game suspension that he received a week previous against New Jersey. The last time Boston faced Anaheim was November 15th. While the Ducks won the game 4-2, this match-up signified a major turning point in the Bruins season, as the B’s went on to acquire a record of 23-3-4 following that game. Anaheim, who had won their last two contests heading into the night, looked to continue their winning ways by sweeping the season series with Boston.
The Detroit Pistons have acquired Blake Griffin (and Willie Reed) from the LA Clippers in return for Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, Boban Marjanovic, and draft picks.

Alex Reimer, radio host on WEEI and commonly the third personality of the Kirk and Callahan morning radio show, should’ve kept his thoughts to himself when calling Tom Brady’s daughter an “annoying little pissant.”
